This varied and colourful tour of Cambodia covers the main highlights of the Angkor Kingdom & capital city of Phnom Penh and the lesser-known town of Battambang.

After time to discover the modern city, follow the path of the scenic road to the colonial town of Battambang – explore the different lifestyles through the eyes of a local. The final stage of the trip is to tick off the well-known Angkor temples, but also explore more remote creeper-clad ruins, and even camp amongst the Khmer empire.

  • Learn about Cambodia’s history at the S21 Prison and Killing Fields and explore the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda as well as explore the living life in Phnom Penh
  • Explore Cambodia’s second-largest city of Battambang, see the livelihoods and take a chance to ride the Bamboo Train.
  • Tour to the impressive Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of never-ending temples and ruins from an Ancient Empire. Navigate the flooded forests & floating villages of Tonlé Sap

Day 1: Arrive in Phnom Penh

Day 2: Tour of the Killing Fields

After a great breakfast and coffee at your hotel, we go ahead to Royal Palace. This king palace dates back to 1866 and houses silver pagoda for over 5000 heavy silver pieces. Locals call this, Wat Prakeo, meaning the temple of Emerald Buddha. The building is also regarded as the museum store room for Buddha status.

Your next destination is to stop at the National Museum, built in traditional Khmer style. It houses the collected ancient Khmer art, archaeological, and religious artefacts from the early 4th -12th century. Head out south of the main centre of the tourist side to Tuol Sleng. Tuol Sleng was a former high school which was used as Security Prison 21 or (S21) under the control of Khmer Rouge from 1975 till 1979. The school was converted into a prison during the victory of Khmer Rouge fighting against the government. This afternoon, you will be treated to a relaxed lunch at a local Khmer styled restaurant where you have a chance to test traditional Khmer cuisine. After the lunch break, continue your tour to the most memorable Killing Field, Genocide Museum. Spend 1hour to take a tour into the complex, before returning to your hotel to relax at the pool.

Most nationalities can get a visa on arrival at Phnom Penh & Siem Reap international airports without prior registration. Visa issued on arrival for most nationalities, US $30/pax, please bring 1 passport photo. You also can get a visa in advance at

You will be met by your tour guide and driver at your arrival point. They will be holding a Siem Reaper name board with your name on it. It is possible you will be a little bleary-eyed after a long flight and there are also likely to be a large number of meeting boards being displayed, so please take your time to locate them.

The country has two distinct weather seasons but we can travel all year round in Cambodia. Our wet season runs from May to September and the dry season from October until April and the heaviest rainfall usually in August & September. The cooler is 24°C around November/December and hottest hitting 35°C around April/May.

Travel insurance is not covered in the tour price. You can organize travel insurance with your preferred insurance company. As medical facilities in Cambodia are rather limited, so it is imperative for you to take out a good medical insurance policy when travelling.

The currency of Cambodia is called ‘Riel’, and there are however no needs to change the currency into riel as US dollars are accepted everywhere. Please kindly note that ripped, torn, or old bills will not be accepted. ATM machines are available in the main cities across the country and mostly in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. Banks are open Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday morning until 12:00 PM. Most hotels and restaurants in the major cities will charge US dollars, but for other currencies, it is advisable to visit a bank. Traveller’s checks can be exchanged at banks and some hotels, but it is not usable outside of the major cities. We would highly recommend using Visa Card or Master Card, as they are now accepted in many hotels, restaurants, and shops in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. As if you wish to travel in a local taxi (Tuk-Tuk), make sure to have the right amount of cash and change with you as the drivers are unlikely to keep a lot of cash with them.

We recommend that you tuck away a few extra dollars, perhaps US$30, for incidentals.

We do not require you to pay a surcharge for traveling alone. We will arrange for you to share accommodation with another traveler of the same gender and if we can not match you up we will provide a single room at no extra charge.
